Former Carpetright store in Brentwood taken by local Charity

28th March 2021 | Mark Mannering

Mass and Co have rented the former Carpetright store in Brentwood High Street to Saint Francis Hospice. Acting for a private landlord client, Mass & Co placed the property at 66 High Street on the market following Carpetright's continued financial troubles.

Saint Francis Hospice, who have over dozen stores in East London and Essex, have been looking to expand and re-locate their Brentwood store and lease terms were agreed at the end of last year.

Director for Retail and Trading, Health and Safety & Voluntary services, Michelle Nicholls comments;

'' At Saint Francis Hospice we are relocating our fashion and home shop from 37 High Street Brentwood to 66 High Street Brentwood – this is a much larger premises for us and a great opportunity to serve Brentwood and generate the much needed funds to support Saint Francis Hospice – we aim to be open late spring with a fresh new look to Charity Retail shopping!''

Here at Mass & Co we are pleased to see the expansion of Saint Francis Hospice who have been a prominent and long established retailer in Brentwood and the region. Whilst many retailers are struggling to retain their presence in the High Street, modern charity shops do offer an attractive proposition and keep the High Street alive in these turbulent retailing times.

Wishing you continued success SFH.
